About Us
Applied Behavioral Alternatives, Inc. was founded by Darren Lemon, a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) who has been working with children and adults with Autism and Developmental Disabilities for thirty years. It was created to meet individual needs through a person centered approach in behavior analysis for persons with Developmental Disabilities. It is proud to be an official internship site for Cal State University Northridge, supervising and mentoring others in the field to acquire their BCBA. It develops and oversees the implementation of Positive Behavioral Supports/Interventions in residential settings including Children and Adult Crisis and Enhanced Behavior Service Homes as well as Level 4 and Specialized facilities. We also serve Behavior Management Day Programs, Schools, In-Home and Self-Directed individual programs. It is currently vendored with various Regional Centers as well as credentialed with multiple insurance carriers. It is a proud cornerstone to the development of the world's first OS and Android based apps to deliver RBT supervision in compliance with the RBT Handbook.
Heather Patin is the proprietor of HPBC, a behavior consultancy with a focus on compliance and certification of behavior aides and technicians working in K-12 schools and residential facilities. Heather started the company in 2019 as a means of exploring independent work after more than 10 years of service to K-12 school districts and regional centers around Southern California.
With the onset of the global pandemic and the pivot to remote work, Heather was perfectly positioned to expand her services to providers suddenly facing a need to ensure their behavioral teams met the exacting standards required by the national certification boards. Her innovative adoption of remote methods, coupled with sharp attention to individual practitioners' needs, sets her apart in her field. Heather continues to work at the intersection of technology and supervision compliance, exploring new avenues to ensure the highest standards of service with the benefits of technological innovation.
Beyond her work, Heather is a dedicated mother to two powerful girls. She volunteers on the Parent Association of her daughters' school and as a Girl Scout Troop Leader; sits on committees at Union Station Homeless Services; and is an avid traveler, having visited all seven continents and nearly every Wonder of the Modern World.
How It Works
1. Download the ABA Compliance Tracker App and complete the registration process to create your account.
2. Set up your Company Profile. This will let you and your supervisor coordinate schedules and a supervision plan that meets your employer’s needs.
3. Set up your Supervisor Profile. Every behavior technician needs a supervisor in order to work. This step lets you enter information about the supervisor who will be approving your logs each month.
4. Set up your Schedule. Create new daily, weekly, and monthly schedules by selecting dates and times.
5. You’ve done it! All of your ABA work and supervision requirements in one place!
Please note: If a Profile already exists in the database, you will not need to create it. You can search for it and affiliate your account with it within the app.
Once you have completed the above steps, you are now free to use and explore the ABA Compliance Tracker App. You’ll be able to add and attach more companies, add or change your supervisor, and fill in your schedule.
ABA Compliance Tracker will keep you on target with notifications before scheduled meetings, get alerts if you have no schedule for the week, and be warned if you are in danger of missing your supervision requirements.
